Quickshift
The gearbox of the 205GTi needs a long lever change to get to another gear. With this modification you'll be able to shift quick from gear to gear..
What do you need?
- Welding machine or the facility to weld somewhere
- Wrench 22
- Screwdriver
- Ringsleutel 10 or dop 10
And now?
- Remove the airfilterbox (if it wasn't replaced by an inductionkit already)
- Search for an L-shaped piece of iron to which the gearlinkage is connected
- Remove the linkage
- Remove the aluminium hub
- Remove the bold size 22
- Take of the L-shaped piece. There are some plastic pieces attached to it. Take them to ensure they will not melt during welding
- Shortening
- The pieces taht you take out needs to be between 10-17mm (the more you take out, the shorter gearchanges will be!)
- 15 mm is the way to go, not too much and not too little
- Weld the two pieces together
- Put a bit of grease on all moving parts and put it back together
Attention!
Because the gearchanging pattern has been shorted, shifting in winter will be harder because the gearboxoil is cold. This will get better after a few miles.
